How To Plan A Eco-Friendly Wedding

The sounds of wedding bells are in the atmosphere. How to Plan a Eco-Friendly Wedding will help you create your exciting day. Over the past years many have become environmentally conscious. If you and your future spouse have become environmentally friendly maybe you would consider sharing your eco-savvy awareness with your family and friends. Plan an eco-friendly wedding instead of having the traditional ceremony. It’s a great way to still have a festive, unique and meaningful event. Here’s how you can create that unique wedding with a touch of “green”.

1. Will You Marry Me? An engagement ring is the begin of your union as husband and wife. Many jewelers are now recycling gold and turning them into beautiful wedding rings. You should also consider one-of-kind wooden bands.

2. You’re Invited To Join Us. Going green will be revealed to your guess upon arrive of their invitation. You can use recycle Bag Lady Designs or handmade paper Of The Earth. You could also use online invitations or a wedding blog to inform your guess of the big event.

3. Keep The Wedding Small. More guests equals more impact from travel, costs and quality requirements from the venue size to the amount of food to be prepared. Moreover, can the bride and groom really focus on 300 people? It is highly unlikely. Go for the more intimate affair and treat all of your family and friends with your attentiveness.

4. Green Gifts - Bridal Registry. There are many retailers offering green gifts and offer registry services. Popular eco-friendly choices for gifts registries are Branch or Viva Terra to name a few. Some of mainstream retailers also offer eco-options. If you have all you need encourage your guest to donate to charities that support that the environment.

5. The Beautiful Bride. Think about a vintage look and update your attire with accessories. Rent your dress and tuxedo. Use a friend’s or family member’s wedding attire. There are plenty of wedding items that can be found at consignment or thrift stores. Find a dressmaker to design and make your bridal party attire out of green friendly fabrics. You will wear these clothes once, sHo there are several possibilities that might suit your needs. Instead of your bridal party going out and spending a lot of money on wedding clothes have them wear simple clothes in your color theme.

6. Sweet Smell - Floral Arrangements. They arrive fresher and plus it’s a great way to support your local community. This will also allow you to determine whether the flowers have been sprayed with pesticide. Another option would be to purchase organic flowers.

7. Cake Creation. A simple cake can still be elegant and convey all the same meaning as a more expensive one. Use simple themes when designing your cake. You can use organic edible flowers to decorate the cake instead of the plastic toppers.

8. Keep It Close. The closer the venue the less distances required for traveling and the less energy consumed. You could have the entire wedding at one venue. Therefore, there is no traveling involved after the wedding. You may want to select a venue with natural streaming light coming in and not having to rely on internal lighting. Another option would be to have your wedding outdoors.

9. Smile It’s Your Big Day. For your lasting memories look for photographers who will do digital proofs. This will save on paper as well as chemicals. Ask friends and family to take pictures with their digital camera and share their photos with guest online in a Snapfish group room that could be set up for your wedding.

10. Arrive In Style. A horse and cart is romantic and it doesn’t burn gas. Think of environmental friendly forms of transportation. A large limo or limo bus is a great way for the entire wedding party to be transported to the reception. You may consider to rent a hybrid.

11. Time To Party. Select a cater who specializes in organic and vegetarian food. You could even find a local organic restaurant that offer off-site catering. Make sure you don’t forget to provide your guess with organic wine, beer, coffee or tea.

12. Now To The Fun Part “The Honeymoon”. Instead of taking that cruise plan on a romantic train trip. While your out of town plan on making reservation at a green hotel.

There will be those who will complain about how you’re creating your big day into a green wedding and many will feel that you should splurge. If you truly believe in living an eco-friendly life style don’t give into those complaints. How to Plan a Eco-Friendly Wedding is a great source to help you plan your perfect and unique day.

I like several of the ideas you presented, especially the horse and carriage. Bring back the romance! What could be more romantic than pulling up to your wedding like that.

You are one of the best writers. This is one of its kind. The passion in your articles is more like an art form. Keep going.

Be careful shopping for eco-friendly invitations. Not all recycled paper is the same. Some retailers will brand invitations as recycled if the paper is made from 30% recycled paper. Look for 100% recycled paper.
